George Webster

George Webster

Writer, Jamgrass admirer

Backstory:

George was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. His passion for making people like brands better with his words led him to the University of Texas at Austin, where he completed the Texas Creative Portfolio Sequence with flying colors (predominantly burnt orange).

Before joining Plot Twist in the Spring of 2026, George worked as a copywriter at GSD&M and as the in-house writer for a popular golf-adjacent Austin menswear brand called Criquet Shirts. He is the very definition of an old soul, with a deep-seated love of classic comedies, jammin’ bluegrass (Ask him about Billy Strings. We dare you), live music in dive bars, and smoking meats (purchased exclusively at H-E-B and Central Market, of course).

Professional Not-So-Humble Brags:

As the in-house writer for Criquet Shirts, he once wrote a headline that made actor/writer/comedian Steve Gerben buy a polo. And he has the analytics data to prove it.

Interesting Cocktail Party Tidbits:

He can break 90 consistently on the golf course and frequently on Highway 130 between Austin and San Antonio.

He once shook hands with Jimmy Buffett in a bar at age 11. What he was doing in a bar at 11 is a longer story.

He has played the guitar intro to the Billy Strings song “Dust in a Baggie” flawlessly. Once.

He is a proud member of the Ace Club at Butler Pitch and Putt in Austin.

He can make killer ribs and is indifferent to tofu.

Best plot twist (so far):

In 2017 George accidentally cut his leg with a chainsaw while clearing out fallen trees after Hurricane Harvey, and walked to tell the story. He really never thought he would get cut by a chainsaw.
